Mizuho Bank reports delays in money transfers

One of Japan's largest financial institutions, Mizuho Bank, says a system glitch caused delays in some overseas fund transfers on Thursday.

The bank unit of Mizuho Financial Group says some transfers could not be completed within the day as it had more transactions at the end of the month than usual.

The bank had been hit by seven system failures since February before the Financial Services Agency issued a business improvement order on September 22.
