Princess Mako, boyfriend to be reunited

The boyfriend of Japan's Princess Mako is back in Japan for the first time in three years. The pair is expected to get married as early as next month.

Komuro Kei has been studying law in New York. He left the city on Sunday and arrived in Japan on Monday afternoon.

Komuro didn't speak to reporters at the airport near Tokyo. He will spend 14 days in coronavirus quarantine before his reunion with Princess Mako.

This is Komuro's first visit to Japan since moving to the United States in August 2018. He graduated from law school this year.

Princess Mako is the eldest daughter of Crown Prince and Princess Akishino.

The Imperial Household Agency is expected to make an official announcement on their marriage soon.
