Kerry pushes leaders on climate change

The US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry has said world leaders should set more ambitious targets for reducing emissions. He called for immediate action, to avoid even more catastrophes.

Kerry made the call during a speech in New Delhi. India is the world's third largest emitter of greenhouse gases, after China and the United States.

The US envoy praised Indian leaders for aiming to increase their generation of renewable energy. He offered US help with financing and technology.

Kerry shared his message with leaders in China and Japan a few weeks ago. He's laying the groundwork for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which begins next month in Glasgow, Scotland.
