Taliban announce caretaker government

The Taliban have announced a caretaker government in Afghanistan.

The group said on Tuesday that the interim government will be led by Mullah Hasan Akhund, who has been named the acting prime minister.

He is close to the Taliban's supreme leader Mawlawi Haibatullah Akhundzada.

Sirajuddin Haqqani has been named acting interior minister.

He is on a wanted list of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.
