A US research group says North Korea may have restarted a nuclear reactor.
38 North disclosed on Monday the result of its analysis of satellite photos of the Nyongbyon nuclear complex.
Satellite imagery from August 25 shows cooling water from a reactor being discharged into a new waterway linked to a river.
The group says it's the first indication of reactor operations since the spring of 2018.
It also confirmed vehicle activity near the reactor, possibly for repair and maintenance work at the facility.
The group says its analysis is consistent with a report issued last month by the International Atomic Energy Agency, which notes signs of reactor operation by North Korea.
