Experts: 5 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses given

Research website Our World in Data says 5 billion doses of coronavirus vaccines had been administered globally as of Monday.

The website is run by researchers at Britain's University of Oxford and others.

The website said the latest figure of global coronavirus vaccinations excludes data from countries and territories whose details cannot be confirmed.

It added that 32.7 percent of the world population have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 24.6 percent have been fully vaccinated.

It said 33.56 million doses are being given globally each day.

But it said only 1.4 percent of people in low-income countries have received at least one dose.
