With a little over two months left before the opening of the Tokyo Olympic games, leaders of volunteers received online training on Saturday.
The metropolitan government has been training volunteers who will provide information to tourists.
The lecturer called on the leaders to communicate with the volunteers, so that their teams can enjoy the activity.
The participants were positive even though there is strong public opposition against the games.
One said they want to make the games a success despite the situation, while another wants to make it an experience that will encourage the team members to continue to volunteer.
The volunteers' activities have not yet been defined. The number of domestic spectators who'll be allowed to attend the games is expected to be decided next month.
Shimode Takayoshi, manager in charge of the volunteers said he wants to raise their morale by explaining the progress of preparing for the games, and give them opportunities to contribute.
