The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 446 new cases of the coronavirus on Saturday.
The figure was up 16 from a week earlier, and topped 400 for the fourth day in a row.
The seven-day average of new cases in Tokyo as of Saturday stood at 383.7, up 11.9 percent from a week ago.
For the 22nd day in a row, the average has exceeded that of the preceding week, clearly indicating that infections are again on the rise.
The total number of infections in the capital now stands at 122,347.
