White House announces US-Japan summit

The United States has announced that President Joe Biden will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide at the White House on April 16.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Friday that Biden looks forward to welcoming Suga.

She said, "This will be our first in-person visit from a foreign leader in the Biden-Harris administration, reflecting the importance we place on our bilateral relationship with Japan, and our friendship and partnership with the Japanese people."
