US President Joe Biden is pushing for more government spending on American-made goods in an effort to protect domestic industries and workers.
Biden held his first Cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday.
He said his administration has "a commitment to Buy American, the plan we're putting forward to make sure that when the government is spending taxpayers' money, that they're spending it on American-made goods of American corporations and American employees."
Biden asked Cabinet members to follow through on an executive order he signed in January.
He told them to look closely into how their agencies spend their budgets and report back to him at their next meeting.
Biden announced on Wednesday plans to spend over 2 trillion dollars to create jobs, by revamping infrastructure and other means.
