The United Nations Security Council says North Korea continues to develop and modernize its ballistic missile program.
The Security Council published on Wednesday its latest annual report submitted by an independent panel of experts monitoring sanctions on Pyongyang.
The report says North Korea unveiled a new short range ballistic missile at a military parade in January. It confirmed that North Korea has been improving its capability to deliver tactical and strategic nuclear weapons.
North Korea fired a missile on March 25. International media outlets quoted experts as saying it is likely that the missile is the one unveiled at the January parade.
The report added that North Korea has endeavored to cultivate partnerships abroad for specific technological exchanges and for the supply of components to upgrade its ballistic missile system.
It says UN member states should steadily implement sanctions on the North.
