The US House of Representatives has approved an impeachment resolution against President Donald Trump.
Lawmakers voted Wednesday on the resolution submitted by the Democrats.
The resolution passed by a margin of 232-197 in the Democrat-controlled House, with backing from 10 Republicans.
It charged Trump with "incitement of insurrection" for his role in the riot at the US Capitol last week.
The move makes Trump the first US president to be impeached twice. He was first impeached in December 2019 over allegations of applying improper pressure on Ukraine.
The Senate will now hold a trial. Some analysts say the trial will take place after January 20, when Trump's term as president ends.
Trump had reacted sharply against the impeachment effort, saying, "It's causing tremendous anger" and "danger to the country."
