Social media platform Twitter has permanently suspended US President Donald Trump's account, citing the risk of further incitement of violence.
Twitter said on Friday it made the decision after close review of recent tweets from Trump's account and the context around them.
The firm had earlier put a temporary lock on Trump's account, following Wednesday's storming of the US Capitol in Washington by Trump supporters. Five people died in the turmoil.
Twitter also warned on Wednesday it may permanently suspend Trump if he further violated its civic integrity policy.
