Jobless rate's first decline in 2 months

The Internal Affairs Ministry said on Friday that Japan's unemployment rate in April marked its first decline in two months. It stood at 2.4 percent for April, down 0.1 of a percentage point from March.

Meanwhile, the Labor Ministry says the ratio of job offers remained unchanged for the sixth consecutive month at 1.63. This means there were 163 openings for every 100 people looking for work.
