Honda debuts as Cambodia general manager
Japanese soccer star Keisuke Honda has led the Cambodia national team in his first match as general manager. The team played a friendly match against Malaysia, but lost 3-1.
Cambodia launched an aggressive offensive in the first half of the game held in Phnom Penh on Monday.
Cheers and applause erupted from a crowd of about 37,000 at the stadium when the Cambodians scored the opening goal before halftime.
But in the second half, Malaysia managed to come from behind.
Honda told reporters after the game that his players could show what they were aiming for in the first 30 minutes.
But he said improvements need to be made, as a soccer game lasts 90 minutes.
He said he is to blame for the loss and that he will try to figure out why his team was defeated.
