90 dead in floods and landslides

Authorities in Japan warn that the death toll from floods and landslides caused by record rainfall in the western part of the country may rise.

They say that as of 09:30 AM on Monday, 90 people are dead and 3 remain in critical condition. At least 58 are missing.

Hiroshima Prefecture was the hardest hit, with 38 people reported dead. 22 were killed in Ehime prefecture.

Fatalities were also reported in Okayama, Hyogo, Kyoto, Shiga, Fukuoka, Kochi, Gifu, Yamaguchi, Saga and Kagoshima prefectures.

3 people are in critical condition in Hiroshima.
