Steamed Strawberry Flan
Flan is a French sweet like a rich pudding. It's light and soft when first made, but when cooled in the fridge, it becomes rich and condensed.

[Uncooked flan mixture]
- 30 g sour cream
- 40 g granulated sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 120 ml fresh cream
- 50 ml milk
- Vanilla extract, a small amount
- 1 package strawberries
- Powdered sugar, as needed
In a bowl, mix together the flan ingredients. Combine the sour cream and granulated sugar, then add the egg yolks one at a time, mixing the first one in completely before adding the second. Mix in the fresh cream and milk, then mix in the vanilla extract.
Remove the stems from the strawberries and place them in a heat-resistant dish, then pour the mixture into the dish.
Fill a deep frying pan with water to a depth about 1/3 the height of the dish, then bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat briefly, then spread a tea towel across the surface of the water and place the dish in the frying pan. Cover with a lid wrapped in a clean tea towel, then steam over low heat for 25-30 min. Sprinkle with powdered sugar just before serving.
