Marinated Grilled Green Bell Peppers
Tender grilled bell peppers marinated in seasoned dashi. Incredibly delicious.

Excludes time needed to chill the marinated peppers.
Ingredients (Servers 2)
- 4 green bell peppers
- 1/4 onion
- 1 tomato (approx. 100 g)
- 200 ml dashi
- 1 tsp usukuchi soy sauce
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 lemon (juice only)
Cut the onion across the grain into thin slices. Remove the tomato stem and cut into 16 equal wedges.
Bring the dashi to a gentle boil and add [A]. Add the onions and tomatoes and immediately turn off the heat. Stir in the lemon juice and empty into a tray. Set aside to cool.
Make an incision around the pepper stems and remove the stems and seeds. Use a grill or gridiron to cook until evenly brown.
When cool enough to handle, cut into 1.5-2 cm rounds. Marinate and refrigerate. Serve chilled.
Adding the peppers to the marinade while still hot allows them to absorb the flavor.
