In 2015, NHK is broadcasting to the world with two mottos: “Reliable Reporting” and “Attractive Programs.” It has launched a news program, “NEWSROOM TOKYO,” and a debate program, “GLOBAL AGENDA.” And it offers wide-ranging information programs effectively by clearly defining their target audiences. On weekends, it is working to offer colorful and diverse entertainment programs in new genres such as anime. Through all these efforts, it aims to develop content that can capture the hearts of audiences around the world.

A new news program in English to report on what’s happening in Japan and the rest of Asia. It summarizes events of one day and reports on them in a way that’s deeper and easier to understand than that of any other media. It features reports that dig deep into events, special programs with analyses by correspondents and experts, business reports on the latest trends, and interviews with key persons.
NEWSLINE: Monday to Sunday, every hour on the hour, except when “NEWSROOM TOKYO” airs.
A news program in English broadcast every hour on the hour. It reports on the latest moves in Japanese politics, economics, technology and culture from multiple perspectives. It takes in-depth looks at reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Fukushima after the nuclear accident there. It also carries reports on rapidly changing situations in Asia from Bangkok, Beijing, Seoul and other places.
A MAJOR DEBATE PROGRAM
NEWGLOBAL AGENDA : About once a month on Saturday, 9:10~11:00 a.m. Japan time, etc.
Opinion leaders around the world are to propose ways to solve problems facing Japan and the rest of the world in this debate program once a month on weekends. It has been introduced to seek wider recognition of NHK WORLD TV as a global medium.
