Main Feature: Through the Gate to the World of Design! - The cutting edge of designer training in Tokyo
More than ten new designers, the most ever, debuted at Japan Fashion Week in March. Aguri Sagimori was the youngest ever at 22, a first-generation fellow of the Vantan Design Institute's Atelier X-seed project for talented young designers. The program provides promotional opportunities and business counseling to help young designers get on track.
The Tokyo fashion industry is seeking to differentiate itself from Paris and Milan as a gateway to the world of fashion. We report on the collections of rising debutantes of the March Japan Fashion Week and find out how they made it through the gate.
