Shohei Shigematsu is known worldwide for his revolutionary building designs. Born in 1973, he graduated from the Dept. of Architecture at Kyushu University before studying in the Netherlands. He went on to work at OMA, the studio of world-famous architect Rem Koolhaas, and in 2008, he became the partner in charge of OMA's New York office. He was the chief architect for Beijing's CCTV Headquarters, and worked on Cornell University's Milstein Hall and other notable buildings. Recently, he has been designing galleries of world-renowned artists such as Cai Guo-Qiang and Marina Abramović.
