Japan: Wage Growth

Wages are finally on the rise in Japan. Managers at automakers and electronics sat down with union representatives and agreed to raise base wages. It now remains to be seen whether small and midsize businesses follow suit. The Bank of Japan's monetary easing policy has played a key role in boosting corporate profits - but the BOJ's pledge to raise inflation has raised concerns about what happens next.
