The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on the situation in Ukraine after the crash of a Malaysia Airlines flight in eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian government says the airliner was shot down.
Rwanda's UN mission, the current president of the council, said the meeting is scheduled for Friday morning.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has called for "a full and transparent international investigation" into what brought down the Malaysian airliner.
Ban told journalists on Thursday he was closely monitoring the reports, along with the International Civil Aviation Organization.
