An explosion on a bus has killed 2 people in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.
The state-run Xinhua news agency says the blast occurred on a bus carrying passengers in the city's central district around 7 PM on Tuesday.
It says 2 died and 32 others were injured.
Local media say police suspect that a passenger may have brought dangerous objects onto the bus. But the exact cause of the explosion is still unknown.
An eyewitness said the explosion occurred when the bus pulled over at a stop, and flames soon spread through the entire bus. The witness said many of the passengers failed to escape.
In China, there have been a number of bus arson incidents, sometimes due to social dissatisfaction.
