Demonstrators in Washington have held a rally to protest Israeli air raids on the Palestinian autonomous enclave of Gaza.
Israel has carried out the attacks in retaliation for the killings of 3 Jewish boys. It insists the Islamist militant group Hamas is responsible for the murders, although the organization denies involvement. The air strikes have killed nearly 100 Palestinians and wounded 700 others.
On Friday, about 200 people, including Arab-Americans, gathered in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington to protest the attacks.
A female demonstrator said many children were among the victims and that she cannot tolerate such cruelty against innocent people.
The protestors called on US President Barack Obama to withdraw support for Israel, not only attempt to mediate a ceasefire between the 2 sides.
Similar protests were staged on Friday in London and Paris.
