Clashes spread after Palestinian boy's funeral

More clashes have been reported between Israeli security forces and Palestinians who are angry with the death of a 16-year-old boy.

Thousands of Palestinians gathered for a funeral of Mohammed Abu Khudair in East Jerusalem on Friday. Some of them began hurling stones at Israeli security forces, who responded with tear gas, rubber bullets and stun grenades.

Local media reports say the clashes continued until early Saturday and about 50 Israelis and Palestinians were injured. The reports also say 20 Palestinians were arrested.

Similar clashes occurred in the West Bank city of Bethlehem from Friday through to early Saturday.

The boy's charred body was found on Wednesday, 2 days after 3 missing Israeli teenagers were found dead.

Palestinians believe far-right Israelis kidnapped and killed the boy in retaliation for the deaths of 3 Israelis. The Israeli Prime Minister accused Hamas of kidnapping and killing the 3.
