1731 meters above sea level. A view of Mt. Fuji from the observation desk at Mt. Amari in Yamanashi Prefecture, behind a city filled with street lights. During winter, the road to the observatory is closed, but in late autumn when the air is clear, the views are fine indeed.

How to use wallpapers

  • *Windows users

    (1) Left click on your desired wallpaper size and a new window opens to display the wallpaper.
    (2) Right click on the image to select "Set as desktop background/wallpaper" from the menu.

    *Mac OSX users

    (1) Click on your desired wallpaper size and a new window opens to show your choice of wallpaper.
    (2) Download the wallpaper and select "Desktop & Screen Saver" on the "System Preferences" menu.
    (3) Click "Choose Folder" in the left panel to select the folder where the downloaded image is saved.
    (4) Click your chosen image to display it as the desktop background.

    *Mac OS9 users

    (1) Click on your desired wallpaper size and a new window opens to show your choice of wallpaper.
    (2) Hold the mouse down until the pop-up menu appears and then select "Save Image As".

*Please note that the right to use these calendar photographs expire at the end of 2011, so please don't use them after that.
