ねっちゅうしょうに ならないためには えあこんを つかうことが たいせつですが、みんなが つかうことで でんきが たりなくなる しんぱいも あります。そのため つかう でんきを すくなくする くふうが ひつようだという にゅーすです。このにゅーすを とおして せつでんに かんする ひょうげんを まなびましょう。

Use your air conditioner more effectively with these four steps to minimize power usage.
Explanation
「できるだけ(dekirudake)」 means “as much as one can” or “as much as possible.” There’s a similar phrase, 「できる限り(dekirukagiri)」, which literally means “to the limit one can.” It’s subtle, but 「できる限り」 is a stronger phrase that emphasizes giving maximum effort. For example, if you were talking about saving electricity, 「できるだけ減らしてください(dekirudake herashite kudasai)」means “reduce as much as you can,” but 「できる限り減らしてください(dekirukagiri herashite kudasai)」 means “reduce as much as you possibly can.” So 「できる限り」 is more insistent. There’s another similar phrase, 「なるべく(narubeku)」, which means “if possible.” 「なる(naru)」 means “to become.” So while 「できるだけ」 and 「できる限り」 place emphasis on putting in maximum effort, 「なるべく」 places emphasis on doing what you can, given your situation or ability. So when you make a request using 「なるべく」, you’re trying to be a little vague about your expectations, and a little less insistent than 「できる限り」 or 「できるだけ」. That being said, if your boss said to you 「来週の会議にはなるべく出席してください(raishuu no kaigi ni wa narubeku shusseki-shite kudasai)」, that is, “Please attend the meeting next week if possible,” they’re saying that you should attend unless you have extenuating circumstances. It’s a roundabout way of saying they expect you at the meeting.
