Tokyo newborn among 7-billionth on Earth
A baby born in Tokyo on Monday is among those recognized as the 7-billionth member of the human race.
The baby girl, weighing about 2,500 grams, was born 20 days prematurely.
Her mother said she knew the UN had forecast that the world's population would reach 7 billion on Monday, but never thought she would have her baby on that day.
She added that, considering the falling birth rate in Japan, she might have made a contribution to society.
