Thai central bank lowers GDP growth forecast

The flooding in Thailand is severely hitting the country's exports and its economic growth.

On Friday, the Bank of Thailand revised down its economic growth forecast for 2011 to 2.6 percent. Its forecast in July was 4.1 percent.

The flooding has forced factories to close at industrial parks in the central prefecture of Ayutthaya and in the outskirts of Bangkok.
