Travel suspension advisory issued for Thailand
Japan's Foreign Ministry is advising its nationals to postpone trips to Bangkok and 5 provinces along the Chao Phraya River that have been inundated by floods.
Announcing the advisory on Friday, the ministry said the Thai government has issued a forecast that if dykes give way, the floodwater in some parts of Bangkok may reach a height of 1.5 meters.
The ministry also urged Japanese nationals staying in Thailand to consider moving to safer places, including destinations outside the country.
