UN chief: Qadhafi death marks historic transition
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, referring to the death of former leader Muammar al-Qadhafi, says the day marks an historic transition for Libya.
He made the comment at UN headquarters in New York on Thursday.
Ban said the road ahead for Libya and its people will be difficult and full of challenges.
He called on combatants on all sides to lay down their arms, saying this is the time for healing and rebuilding.
He stressed that now is the time for all Libyans to come together and that they can only realize the promise of the future through national unity and reconciliation.
