Obama, Lee visit GM plant in Michigan

US President Barack Obama and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak are promoting a bilateral trade deal by together visiting a plant of a major US auto company.

The two on Friday made speeches before employees of the General Motors' assembly plant in Michigan about a free trade agreement they are working to put into effect.

Obama stressed the deal will benefit the United States as well as South Korea, saying that US automobiles will be accepted more widely in South Korea.

President Lee tried to dispel concern within US industry by promising that the trade agreement will increase the US work force, not the other way around.
