Toyota to resume output in Thailand on Nov.21
Toyota Motor says it will resume production in Thailand on November 21st, a month after severe flooding forced it to suspend operations.
Toyota halted production at 3 plants in Thailand on October 10th because of supply chain disruptions. It also downsized output in Japan, North America and other Southeast Asian nations.
On Wednesday night, the company said it is reasonably confident that parts can be acquired. It added that it has yet to decide whether to resume production at all 3 plants and which car models should be produced.
Toyota has already decided to continue cutting output at plants in Japan until November 18th. It will also downsize production through this week at plants in other countries except Thailand.
Nissan Motor and Mazda Motor have also decided to resume production of some models in Thailand.
