At least 100 deaths reported in Nigeria terrorism
The Nigerian Red Cross says at least 100 people have died in a series of terrorist attacks in northern Nigeria.
An armed group attacked a police station, a church and other sites in the northern state of Yobe on Friday night and Saturday.
The Associated Press reported that a Muslim group is claiming responsibility. The group had said it was behind the August suicide bombing at a building containing UN offices in the country's capital, Abuja, killing at least 20 people.
Meanwhile, the US Embassy on Sunday released a warning that 3 hotels in the capital are possible terrorist targets, asking people not to go near them.
Many years of confrontation between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria escalated into terror attacks by Muslim extremists across the nation after a Christian president was reelected in April.
