Noda, Hu to hold talks in Hawaii next week
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Chinese President Hu Jintao have agreed to hold talks on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Hawaii next week.
The 2 leaders spoke briefly following the first day of the G20 meeting in the French city of Cannes.
Noda and Hu reaffirmed that the 2 nations should deepen their strategic and mutually beneficial ties.
Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China.
The 2 leaders also agreed that Noda will visit China after the talks in Hawaii.
